Your insight into Fortnite’s creative mode

You might have heard of a little game called Fortnite? The addictive multi-player battle game took 2018 by storm and they have just released a Creative Mode gameplay. If your Fortnite Fans are also Minecraft fans, they will find this style of gameplay familiar.

In Epic Game’s own words (Epic make Fortnite), Creative mode lets you “Design games, race around the island, battle your friends in new ways and build your dream Fortnite. It’s all happening on your own private island where everything you make is saved”.

Creative mode is a game changer in how players can interact with the game. Firstly, it takes away the addictive, time-sensitive nature of play and secondly, the rare items such as Llama’s are now easily accessible. As such, creative mode has lifted the veil on those out of reach rewards that fuel the addictive, and expensive, aspects of the game.

Even more crucially, Creative Mode now makes it easier for those of us who aren’t savvy players to learn the game without pressure, at our own pace.

Inspired by this, we are setting our Safer Schools community a Creative Christmas Challenge!

Your Creative Christmas Challenge ?

We challenge you to sit down with your Fortnite experts and use their expertise to help you build your very own island. This will educate you on fundamental elements of Fortnite so you have more in your toolkit to empower the children in your care to protect themselves online.

Use this checklist to create your Island:

✔︎ Place at least 3 different Prefab’s
✔︎ Place 5 different devices and they must be a range of rarity
✔︎ Fire a weapon
✔︎ Learn how to fly
✔︎ Create a Llama
✔︎ Create a Chest
✔︎ Add an item to your inventory (look out for the Boogie Bombs!)
✔︎ Visit someone else’s island

Download this as a printable challenge checklist to keep in sight as you play the game.
