Charity firm urges child sex abuse viewers to stop and contact helpline

  • The Lucy Faithfull Foundation (LFF) has released a short film to urge offenders to call its helpline in order to stop viewing child sexual abuse materials (CSAM).
  • Last month the charity revealed that the number of people accessing the LFF Stop it Now! helpline had increased by two thirds in the last year to 270,000.
  • It has also said that roughly a quarter of people who call the helpline do so because they are concerned about another adult’s sexual behaviours involving children.
  • Their research suggested 70% of people would encourage a friend or family member to seek help if they believed they were looking at such images.
  • The new 30-second film, ‘Triggers’, was created based on insights shared by previous offenders and highlights their fear of being exposed.
