Google to fix AI picture bot after ‘woke’ criticism 

  • Google is aiming to fix its new AI image generation tool following claims it was over-correcting against the risk of being racist.

China tech firm claimed it could hack Foreign Office 

  • A Chinese cyber security firm claimed it had the ability to hack the UK’s Foreign Office, leaked documents suggest.
  • UK government agencies, think tanks, businesses and charities also appear in the leaked i-Soon data.
  • China’s UK embassy reported it was unaware of the leak and strongly opposes cyberattacks in accordance with the law.

GCSE grades a good predictor of life chances and wellbeing, research shows 

  • A study by Leeds and York universities found GCSE results to be the most powerful predictor of young adults’ (early 20s) development, surpassing gender and even later qualifications like degrees.
  • The research comes as nearly 800,000 students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland prepare to sit their GCSE exams this spring.
  • The results were particularly marked for those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
