Young people trust politicians less than influencers to give truthful news
- A poll conducted by Survation and commissioned by BBC Education has found young people trust politicians less than social media influencers to tell the truth about current affairs.
- The survey targeted more than 2000 people aged 11-16 and implied that social media is the main source of news for the age group.
- The research comes after the BBC launched a new campaign called ‘Other Side of the Story’ which will help young people navigate fake news.
