• This week Facebook removed 790 QAnon groups from its site, and restricted 1,950 groups, 440 pages and more than 10,000 instagram accounts related to the conspiracy theory 
• It is part of a new policy that aims to limit the risks to public safety posed by QAnon, “offline anarchist groups” and US-based militia organisations.
• Facebook said “We have seen growing movements that, while not directly organizing violence, have celebrated violent acts, shown that they have weapons and suggest they will use them...”

• Netflix has removed a promotional poster for a new film named ‘Cuties’ 
• The french drama follows an 11-year-old who joins a dance group, it seeks to tackle the sexualisation of girls 
• Netflix said it was ‘deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork’ 
• The poster depicted female children in sexualised dance poses 
• After the poster sparked controversy online, Netflix told BBC News: “This was not an accurate representation of the film so the image and description has been updated”

• A massive data leak was recently discovered by a security research team at Comparitech
• It is thought that the issue of unsecured databases are contributing to the increasing amount of account data appearing on dark web cybercrime forums
• Comparitech discovered the data breach this month, finding that 1 in 5 records contained either a phone number or email 
• Paul Bischoff, Comparitech editor, says “The information would probably be most valuable to spammers and cybercriminals running phishing campaigns” 
• Another recent audit found 15 billion stolen logins from 100,000 breaches
• Users of social media platforms are advised to be alert to phishing scams by email or social media comments

• This week the National Education Union (NEU) has warned that it will be ‘almost impossible’ for disadvantaged children to catch up with their peers unless ‘bigger changes’ are made to exams
• Children from advantaged backgrounds are more likely to have had access to education while outside of school during the pandemic
• Dr Mary Bousted, the joint General Secretary of the NEU said her union is “concerned that the education attainment gap between the more advantaged pupils and less advantaged pupils will be wider” unless next year’s GCSEs and A-levels are “altered to reflect that reality“
